Luis Enrique Herrera

Inspired by tennis, Luis E. Herrera has enriched the lives of other athlete, fans, tennis lovers and enthusiasts through his dedication, enthusiasm, professionalism and world class tennis ability.

Born in Mexico City, Mexico Luis Herrera progressed onto an illustrious tennis career in both the junior and professional ranks. Luis Herrera was as high as # 2 in singles and # 6 in doubles in the world junior rankings in 1988.

Luis Herrera earned a career high ATP World Tour Singles Ranking of # 47 with wins over Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Mats Wilander, Brad Gilbert among others. Played in all the major world tournaments including Wimbledon, Italian Open, US Open, French Open, Australian Open etc.

Luis Herrera represented Mexico thru all his tennis career played Davis Cup for Mexico for 11 years, 3 gold Medals on the Central American Games in Mexico 90 and Gold Medallist in the Pan American Game in Cuba 91.

He was the Davis Cup captain in 2000, 2001 and Mexican Olympic Team Captain in Sydney 2000.

Luis Herrera has coached players from beginner to tour-level players and currently travels to tournaments with our top juniors.

Luis Herrera is the Academy Director of Select Tennis Academy.

His virtues of being a world class athlete, coach, commentator, analyst, and inspiration to the next generation of tennis stars.
