Dale Christian

Dale Christian has been active in teaching and playing tennis since the 1970s. He is a USPTA Certified Teaching Professional and has been with Select Academy for five years.

Dale began tennis at the age of 10 in Norman, Oklahoma. By the age of 17, he was ranked #1 in Oklahoma in the Boy’s 18-and-Under Division. As a senior in high school, he won the Oklahoma 4A High School State Singles Championship. He played NCAA tennis at the University of Oklahoma, winning the 1982 Big Eight Conference Team Championship and a Big Eight Conference Individual Championship at Line 6 that same year. From 1982-1984, he was ranked #1 in Oklahoma in Men’s Money Doubles once and also #1 in Men’s Open Doubles.

Dale taught tennis professionally for 10 years through 1985. In 2016 he concluded a 30-year professional career in the oil & gas industry. Through 2012 he consistently maintained a 5.0-5.5 USTA rating. In 2014 Dale represented the Texas USTA Section in Mixed Doubles Over 18s at the USTA National Championships and also in 2016 in Men’s Doubles Over 55s at Nationals, placing 5th. Although his competitive days are behind him, he was rated 5.0 in 2015 and once again 5.0 in 2019.

Dale is excited to be back teaching tennis and enjoys developing and working with younger players.
